Phantom climbing shoes are not "just good" climbing shoes. When you're standing on a micro-step the size of a coin, when you need to hook your toe on an overhang or precisely transfer your weight to a small protrusion – that's when the details of the construction make all the difference.
The Phantom model is built on an asymmetrical and significantly curved last that naturally directs the force of the foot to the toe. This allows you to stand where a regular climbing shoe would slip. In addition, the extremely sensitive toe transfers every contact with the rock or hold directly to your foot—you feel as if you are climbing almost barefoot, only with significantly more confidence.
The upper, made of 1.8 mm thick cowhide leather, gradually adapts to the shape of the foot and creates a precise, personal fit. The lace-up fastening allows for precise tightening along the entire length of the foot – from the toe to the instep. The padded tongue increases comfort even during longer climbs.
The highlight of the shoe is the VIBRAM XS Grip sole, which is one of the most grippy climbing rubbers in the world. It grips where other shoes fail, both on rock and artificial walls.
Another interesting feature is the exceptionally soft and sensitive toe. In addition to better contact with the rock, it also has an "unexpected" effect – when moving in nature, you don't damage the rock surface as much. Phantom respects nature as much as it respects the climber's performance.
