Planika Challenge trekking boots are classic European hiking shoes that focus on the most important things – high-quality leather, sturdy construction, and long life. They are ideal for light hiking, traveling, and everyday wear in the countryside or city.
At first glance, you will notice the upper made of high-quality nubuck leather with a thickness of 2.0–2.2 mm. This material is one of the reasons why Planika shoes last significantly longer than many modern ultralight models. Nubuck leather is abrasion-resistant, protects the foot well, and helps resist moisture thanks to its hydrophobic treatment.
These shoes are not the lightest on the market – and that is intentional. Extremely lightweight shoes are often made of thin textile materials, which save weight but wear out faster. Planika Challenge takes the opposite approach – offering stability, foot protection, and durability.
Inside the shoe is an AIR-TEX membrane, which ensures a good balance between breathability and water resistance. This keeps your feet dry even during long walks or in changeable weather.
Walking comfort is enhanced by an anatomically shaped antibacterial insole and a PUR midsole in the heel area, which absorbs shocks when walking. The Eurosole outsole provides stable contact with the ground and confidence when walking on forest paths or stones.
The Planika brand has been manufacturing outdoor footwear since the 1950s. After 2000, the German company Meindl joined the company, which brought further technological development. The result is footwear that combines traditional European manufacturing with modern materials.
