Planikas are not the lightest shoes. Quality nubuck leather is used here. To be strong enough with a long life, the shoe cannot be super light. This is only possible with textile materials, but at the expense of much lower abrasion resistance and durability. In their category of leather uppers, planiks are among the best and most comfortable you will find on the European market.
Planika has been manufacturing outdoor and sports footwear since the 1950s. After 2000, the German company Meindl entered Planika. Planika continues to manufacture part of its production under this brand and part under its own brand.
There are a number of manufacturers of footwear for the mountains in the Zlín region. So they can also do professional shoe repairs, just like we do clothing. We make sure you don't have to send your boots to a factory across Europe.
